Global Stem Cell Courier Services: How Cryo Medical Logistics Moves Life-Saving Cells Worldwide

When a leukaemia patient is waiting on a stem cell transplant, or a research team is waiting on a haematopoietic progenitor cell (HPC) shipment for a time-critical protocol, the courier is not a logistics afterthought — it is part of the treatment itself. At Cryo Medical Logistics (CML), we built our stem cell transport service around that reality: every mission is supervised door-to-door, temperature is never left to chance, and the cells never leave a trained courier's sight.

Why CML Is the Right Partner for Supervised Stem Cell Transport
Stem cell and bone marrow logistics is unlike any other category of cargo. The material is irreplaceable, the recipient's treatment window is often measured in hours, and a single mishandled transfer — an X-ray exposure, a temperature excursion, a missed connection — can mean the shipment can't be used at all. We designed our service around eliminating those failure points rather than managing around them.
A Dedicated Stem Cell Team
Our stem cell missions are coordinated by a dedicated team, not a general cargo desk. Because these shipments often move across time zones and language barriers — a donor collection in one country, a transplant centre in another — our coordinators are available around the clock and work fluently across the languages our corridors demand.
A Vetted Network of Supervised Couriers
Every stem cell shipment travels hand-carry, accompanied by a courier who stays with the dewar as cabin baggage from collection to delivery. Our courier network is built specifically around this requirement — individuals trained in cryogenic handling, dangerous goods documentation, and the discipline of never letting the shipment out of reach.
End-to-End Mission Planning
We manage the mission from first call to final signature: courier selection matched to the route and requirements, airline and airport coordination, real-time itinerary tracking, and contingency handling if a flight is delayed, rerouted, or cancelled. Our clients — transplant centres, donor registries, and collection facilities — get one point of accountability for the entire journey, not a handoff between separate freight and courier providers.
How We Ship Stem Cells
Every CML stem cell shipment follows the same non-negotiable protocol, regardless of corridor:
Hand-carry only, supervised throughout. The shipper stays with our courier as cabin baggage at every stage — it is never checked, never left unattended, and never handed to a third party mid-route.
Do Not X-Ray protocol. We coordinate directly with airport security and airline staff in advance to secure manual/visual inspection wherever the shipment's home jurisdiction and destination permit it, avoiding exposure that can compromise cell viability.
Full chain-of-custody documentation. Collection-to-delivery paperwork, temperature logs, and customs/import documentation are prepared and carried with the shipment.
ISO 9001:2015-compliant process, FCA-regulated insurance. Our stem cell service runs under the same quality management system and insurance coverage as the rest of our reproductive and cellular material transport work.
A Global Network — Leading Where It Matters Most
CML moves stem cell and HPC shipments worldwide, connecting donor registries, collection centres, and transplant units across every populated continent. Where we've built the deepest advantage is in the corridors that matter most right now:
Africa. Anchored by our Lagos office and weekly domestic operations, we are building the stem cell and bone marrow transport infrastructure that much of the continent has lacked — connecting African transplant centres to international donor registries and closing a gap that has historically forced patients to wait far longer than clinically ideal.
Middle East. We coordinate supervised stem cell transport into and across the region's transplant centres, working within each country's import, customs, and airport-security frameworks rather than treating the region as an afterthought to European or North American routes.
Mexico. As transplant capacity grows across Mexico, we are positioning CML as the supervised courier of record for the corridor — matching the same protocol and pricing transparency clients see on our reproductive material routes to and from Mexico.
Alongside these priority corridors, we ship globally — Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America — with the same protocol on every route, not a scaled-down version for markets outside our core focus.

What Determines the Cost of a Stem Cell Shipment
Pricing depends on the route, the level of urgency, the packaging and dry shipper requirements, and any additional handling the specific mission calls for. As with all of our cryogenic transport work, we quote in ranges rather than flat fees, and our quotes exclude collection-facility fees, dry shipper rental beyond the standard transit window, and any storage required before or after transport.
Indicative Pricing by Route
Route | Delivery Cost* |
Africa ⇆ Europe | from $2500 |
Africa ⇆ North America | from $3500 |
Africa (domestic / intra-Africa) | from $2500 |
Middle East ⇆ Europe | from $2500 |
Middle East ⇆ North America | from $3500 |
Mexico ⇆ United States | from $7500 |
Mexico ⇆ Europe | from $7500 |
Other global routes | TBC |
Figures above are placeholders — replace with confirmed current pricing before this guide is published. Ranges should reflect route distance, dry shipper/packaging requirements, and standard handling; they exclude collection-facility fees and any storage before or after transport.
Time-critical shipments can be expedited for an additional fee, confirmed at the time of booking based on the actual routing available — we don't quote a blanket premium that may not reflect the real flight options on a given corridor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can stem cells go through airport X-ray screening? We work to avoid it wherever possible. Our team liaises with airport security in advance to arrange manual/visual inspection, since X-ray exposure can cause damage to cellular material. Where a jurisdiction requires X-ray screening regardless, we flag this to the client ahead of booking.
Is the courier with the shipment the entire time? Yes. Our couriers carry the dry shipper as cabin baggage and remain with it from collection through to delivery at the transplant centre or laboratory — it is never checked as cargo and never left unsupervised.
Do you handle both domestic and international stem cell transport? Yes. We coordinate domestic transfers between collection centres and transplant units within a single country, as well as international shipments between donor registries and transplant centres worldwide.
How quickly can a shipment be arranged? Because stem cell missions are often time-critical, our dedicated team can typically confirm courier availability and routing on short notice. Contact us directly with your timeline and we'll advise what's realistic for your specific route.
