Donor Egg and Sperm Sourcing Across Africa: Matching Caucasian Donors for International Clients

For many international clients pursuing fertility treatment across Africa, finding a donor who matches a specific ethnic or physical background is one of the hardest parts of the journey. Caucasian and European donor eggs and sperm are in especially short supply through local sourcing alone, which is why we built a transport-and-coordination service around connecting clients to our vetted partner donor bank network abroad, then managing the entire cryogenic journey from donor bank to clinic.

Why This Is Growing Across Africa
Fertility tourism across Africa has expanded rapidly, and a meaningful share of that demand comes from clients — expatriates, diaspora families, and international patients treating locally — who are specifically looking for Caucasian or European donor eggs or sperm to match their own background or their partner's. Local donor pools in most African markets are limited in ethnic diversity, simply because they draw from the local population.
Rather than asking clients to solve that gap themselves, we connect them to our vetted partner donor bank network in Europe and the US, and manage the transport of the donor material into the clinic handling their treatment.
How Donor Sourcing Works
We don't operate as a donor bank ourselves — we work with an established network of vetted partner donor banks that handle recruitment, screening, and release of donor material, while we manage the client-facing coordination and the cryogenic transport into Africa.
Donor Screening Standards
Every donor sourced through our partner network goes through a structured screening process before their material is released for shipment:
Screening Component | What It Covers |
Infectious disease testing | Screening for relevant communicable diseases per international donor safety standards |
Genetic carrier screening | Testing for common inherited conditions relevant to the donor's background |
Medical history review | Personal and family medical history assessment |
Psychological evaluation | Assessment of the donor's readiness and understanding of the donation process |
Physical characteristics profile | Documented details (e.g. eye colour, hair colour, build, ethnicity) to support client matching |
Indicative Pricing
Donor eggs: from €400 per egg, sourced through our European partner banks
Donor sperm: from $900 per vial, sourced through our US partner banks
Transport: quoted separately, based on the specific route and destination clinic
These figures reflect donor material sourcing only — they exclude the fertility clinic's own treatment costs (IVF/ICSI, embryo transfer, monitoring), transport, and any storage before or after shipment.
How We Transport the Donor Material
Once a donor match is confirmed and the material is released by the partner bank, we manage the cryogenic journey the same way we manage every shipment:
−196°C dry shipper transport, validated to hold temperature for the full journey without external power.
Continuous hand-carry supervision. The shipper travels as cabin baggage with our courier from pickup to delivery — never checked, never left unattended.
Do Not X-Ray protocol. We coordinate with airport security in advance to secure manual/visual inspection wherever permitted, protecting the material from radiation exposure.
Full chain-of-custody documentation, covering export from the partner bank's country and import into the receiving African country.
ISO 9001:2015-certified process, FCA-regulated insurance on every mission.

Where We Coordinate This
We support donor sourcing and transport for clinics and individual clients across Africa, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Francophone West Africa. Coverage and import requirements vary by country — we confirm the specific process for your destination clinic before your case moves forward.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose specific characteristics for my donor? Yes. Our partner banks provide a physical characteristics profile — including details like ethnicity, eye colour, hair colour, and build — so you can select a donor that matches what you're looking for.
Do you act as the donor bank yourselves? No. We work with a vetted network of partner donor banks who handle donor recruitment and screening. Our role is coordinating the match on your behalf and managing the cryogenic transport of the material to your clinic.
How much does donor sourcing cost compared to transport? Donor material itself starts from €400 per egg or $900 per vial of sperm through our partner banks, and transport is quoted separately based on your specific route — the two are priced independently since they're different parts of the process.
Is this available for any African country? We coordinate donor sourcing and transport across a range of African markets, but the specific import process and requirements differ by country. We'll confirm what applies to your destination clinic before proceeding.
How long does the whole process take, from choosing a donor to receiving the material at my clinic? Timing depends on donor availability at the partner bank and the specific transport route to your clinic — we'll give you a realistic timeline once we know your destination and requirements.
